What name would best fit an opulent restaurant, where people could taste and discover unique flavours from all over the world?
We wanted to create a truly authentic setting for this restaurant. After long consideration, we choose to name it J. Cook, honouring the great explorer, navigator and cartographer Captain James Cook, who famously discovered some of the most exotic parts of our planet including New Zealand and Hawaii. The name simultaneously refers to cooking and highlights that the restaurant offers its guests a unique chance to explore and sample extraordinary tastes from all around the world.
Referencing Captain Cook, we used ocean waves as one of the pattern designs for branding. While another pattern is based on rope texture since cordage knotting is an essential part of naval arts. We have incorporated old fashioned keys, bottle-letters, exotic views of newly discovered islands and its inhabitants in our branding to further highlight the philosophy of the restaurant.
